In February 2006 artist's resale right ('ARR') (also known as droit de suite) became part of UK copyright law for the first time.

First published in 2006 this book was the first UK text to analyse ARR in detail and provide practical guidance for artists, collecting societies, art dealers, art galleries, auction houses and their legal advisers in what was a controversial and completely new area of UK art law.

This second edition takes account of significant legal developments relevant to the UK since 2006, including changes to the law brought about by-the Artist's Resale Right (Amendment Regulations) 2011 and the expansion of ARR to the estates of deceased artists from 1 st January 2012. It includes updated appendices including both the ARR Directive and the consolidated UK Artist's Resale Right Regulations.

The aim has been to continue to provide both a comprehensive and practical guide to ARR of value to all those involved or interested in the operation of ARR in the UK.
