Professor Griew's well established work on the Theft Acts, now in its sixth edition, is a stimulating mix of exposition and criticism. This new edition follows all recent developments in the law of theft and reflects on the many areas of current debate.

There is a completely new chapter placing the fraud offences in the Theft Acts in the wider context of the criminal law relating to fraud. Other areas of importance such as appropriation, and in particular Dobson v. General Accident, are explored.

The importance of bank account theft has been developed and is now treated as a separate topic. "Handling" is also expanded and the problem of the ambiguous offender in the light of Yip Kai-Foon is considered. Other topics discussed include mistake in theft, directions on dishonesty, false accounting, and procuring the execution of a valuable security.

The Theft Acts, with its clear headings and cross-references aids the busy practitioner and guides the student towards a solid understanding of the structure of the law of theft.
