We live in a world that is richer than ever before, yet one in six people go hungry every day. This paradox was the reason why the UN's most important human rights body, the Commission on Human Rights (now the UN Human Rights Council), appointed an expert to investigate the realization of the human right to food around the world. The Fight for the Right to Food documents the work of the UN's first Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food from 2000 to 2008, giving important insights into the work of a 'Special Rapporteur' and his team.
